We must have sympathy towards those who are allergic to chocolate . Just consider these people have never ever been able to savor all the different chocolates which we have grown to love. Equally they have never had the pleasure of getting any chocolate gifts either.

Germany formerly assumed the liquid form of the cocoa bean to be a harmful narcotic. It is believed that a member of the Spanish royal family , Anne of Austria, got married to a member of the French Court and brought about this delightful drink as a fashionable past time. This beverage was actually permitted after the faculty of medicine in Paris approved it. Despite past fears, this drink became hugely in demand by the 1600s.
Switzerland is another country unable to grow cacao. However, they are renowned the world over for their truly delicious candies. They started to make this good stuff back in the nineteenth century. The Swiss’ chocolate industry began to grow between 1890 and about 1920. After World War II, the industry started to diminish. However, since the advent of automation , Swiss chocolates have been growing constantly. They continue to be known for their excellence.
Italy makes “Chuao”, from their beans that are grown at just one plantation. The nation’s chocolate beans are obtained directly from the chocolate bean farmers. They tend not to work through a brokerage service. In this way, Italy is able to obtain only the finest quality beans. They were sure that they could never be thought of as the world’s top chocolate producer if they acquired their cocoa beans from a broker.
